Maybe you don't already know about Etsy. Etsy is wonderful and unique. The tiny store fronts are all pretty, and are all staffed by the friendly and fascinating artisans who created the goods within. Said artisans are happy to stop and talk to you, barter, exchange life stories, talk about their creative process, or maybe make you a special custom piece. You might stumble upon some adorable
miniature sock monkeys, then turn around and find, just across the hall, a jeweler reproducing
exquisite Renaissance designs. Next you might come across some
handmade chocolate vegan soap,
a custom fitted retro dress,
gorgeous throw pillows, and
an amazing art photo, or just
something odd and magical that you've never seen anywhere else! You'll find there is a real story behind each piece, everything is priced fairly, and there is something for every budget. Wanna go? Maybe you'll be so inspired that you want to open your OWN adorable little storefront, and you'll discover that you can, its fun, there is no overhead, you'll make new friends and feel welcome, get lots of help with promotion, and pretty soon you'll start selling your things. Here is a little heart-house I made. It'll be in the shop later today. I'm not sure about the psychology of my current fond feelings for tiny houses. I've also been spending a lot of time looking at beautifully detailed vintage buttons (more on this later!) There's such a sweet quality to tiny, perfect things; they belong to some special section of my imagination, the place where I can fall deliciously into a limitless, untainted world... do you know what I mean?
