queen anne's lace and pearly everlasting


The wildflowers of midsummer contain entire worlds. The dusty sunshine smell of Queen Anne's Lace evokes the summers of my childhood, walking dry paths on the iron red bluffs above the mud flats of the Bay of Fundy, exploring old farmhouses abandoned since the 1930's, their shutters grey with lichen, their foundations thick with Queen Anne's Lace.
