New, New, New... plus a GIVEAWAY

I took this photo this morning, of a gorgeous white chrysanthemum & cedar frond in our low northern winter light. I love the clean feeling of early january, after the christmas things are put away, you can take a big breath and look at the year ahead, and the year behind. I love that feeling of possibility - maybe THIS is the year I'll finally push through this or that really stuck place. I have my own hopes for 2010. There are a few knots in my life I would love to untangle this year. And lots of things I'd like to create and do. I plan to spend some time over the next few days clarifying my intentions and setting them down on paper -- and here, too.

I've made two really pretty pages today: a january calendar page, and a page of new year's journal prompts. These are for all my Artful Life subscribers, and I'll be sending them out on New Year's Eve. I'll make the calendar page available here, too, but if you want the page of new year's journal prompts, just subscribe between now and Jan 1!!

I also want to celebrate the new year with an artful GIVEAWAY. I'll send out a not-just-for-sushi dish to one of you, with love. Just leave a comment on this post, letting me know 1) your name & place 2) why you read the Artful Life and 3) what you'd like to see on this blog in 2010. I'll choose one of you randomly on January 11. Here's the dish, good luck!

**UPDATE** the lucky winner was Sondra of modern marks, congrats, Sondra!!!

What a perfect little spot to place rings or earrings I forgot to take off before slipping into bed. My name is Sallie Ann, and I write www.bunny-bites.blogspot.com from my home in Chicago. I read your posts for creative inspiration and your cozy persona! I say, just keep it up in 2010. I think we all have big hopes for the new year. Peace.

I just subscribed to the newsletter, I can't wait to get the prompts :) I missed that you had a mailing list somehow, I've just been following the blog.

What a lovely dish! It may be not just for sushi, but I'll take any excuse to eat it :)

I read Artful life because I like having a art journaler to follow who is a moon follower like me :)

I'd love to see more moon-oriented/goddessy crafts, prompts, and artful discussions in the coming year!

I am Gina in Chugiak, Alaska. I just started a blog today. It can be found at: http://ginamurrow.wordpress.com/

I read The Artful Life for creative inspiration. Thank you for the January calendar that you posted! Beautiful pages that we can print out and use at our desk are something I'd love to see more of on your blog. Also, creative exercise prompts to get the "juices" flowing on slow art days.

Thank you!
