My neighbor Larry showed up at my door the other day with this enamel tub full of freshly picked berries. Isn't this just the picture of old-fashioned wholesome goodness? This is summer. This is also one of the many reasons I love my island home.So I froze most of these, since I didn't have time to make jam this week. But I also served a few bowls fresh with cream; it was a great chance to try out one of my fresh-out-of-the-kiln Blossom Bowls with Mango glaze (below). I think it looks beautiful!
I also made a batch of my favorite Berry Crisp, the recipe is adapted from the Moosewood Restaurant Book of Desserts' Apple Raspberry Crisp - I'll post the recipe later today.
